Below is a list of priorities for Space Camp to consider in subsequent semesters.
Share the Observatory with the Space Camp team and communicate with
Building Management
- Ensure Kate, Monica, Nadia, DiMitri, Gray, José, and Jon have full access to this tool.
- Email Zarko about the status of the prototypes and the timeline of the next steps.
- Don’t “other” Zarko: he isn’t there to tell us “no”; his job is to tell us “how” (conscripting him into service will make him an ally and facilitate change).
Use the Space Camp Observatory
- Refer to the Placemaking Primer when needed.
- Use the concepts and prototypes that wkrm Spring 2023 created, and add more to these places as the need arises.
- Review the prototype test plan changes
- Refer to the problems found in research
- Consider the list of concepts for future prototypes and tests
- Use this “Observatory” and the templates provided to masterplan projects.
Design an implementation plan for the current prototypes
- Consider establishing the AHG Ambassador role.
- Consider Summer projects and student residencies to advance AHG placemaking design.
- Coordinate meetings and work with the Fall 2023 Capstone team (Space Camp ”Cadets” including Zac DeLane, Taylor Mason, Grace Mensing, and Princeton Tran)
Have students participate directly and indirectly on the Space Camp team
Having student representation in Space Camp would provide insight and ownership of a comprehensive design space and design community. A good first step is to have wkrm members from the past cycle on the Space Camp team to help initiate and implement higher fidelity prototypes from the past wkrm cycle.
- Recruit student representatives from each year and include a transfer student representative.
